So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, be of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him.

- 2 Corinthians 5:6-9

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

- Philippians 1:21

From Rodney Schempp's funeral:

I get the sense that “walking with the Lord” was incredibly important to Rodney: a man who, by his own account, didn’t know the Lord until he was a teenager and took a liking to the girl who grew up across the street. It seemed like his walk with the Lord was as natural as breathing. And without fanfare, or broad speeches, or throwing Scripture around, Rodney lived a disciplined life of walking with the Lord at the Lord’s pace.
