I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip — He who watches over you will not slumber;

Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you — the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life;

The Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

Psalm 121 NIV

When I had a lot of trials including healing from serious concussions, I could not read the Bible for long at all without getting confused and headaches, so my family suggested I read Psalms and I found this scripture. It was shorter than others but it was compact with so many good visual reminders.

I kept going through my day thinking about this verse and it encouraged me to keep the faith and to not look at what was around me. Also, when I was recovering from my concussions, I needed to sleep a lot so I loved the part where it says that “He never slumbers nor sleeps” as He watches over us. That was very encouraging to me.
