Psalm 34:19:
The righteous face many troubles, but the Lord rescues them from each and every one.

John 16:33:
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Psalm 34:19, John 16:33 NLT

When going through difficult things in life, I have said, "I wish things would get back to normal," which meant life without much stress or difficulty. These verses show me even "the righteous face many troubles" and "here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows." Normal life is facing troubles, trials, and sorrows, none of us are immune from life not going the way we wanted.

What gives me comfort in these verses is to know I am not alone in my struggles, the Lord is with me through each step of life. If I reflect on the life I have lived so far, I see that He has rescued me, and He has given me peace, and ultimately I know He will overcome this world. I do not need to be surprised by, or discouraged by, the trials. My help has come.
