Check out the whole incredible story, but note verses 16-17:
"Don’t be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them. And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
2 Kings 6:8-23 NIV
New in 2025…
The king of the Syrians finds out that somehow Elisha, a prophet of the Lord, has been warning Israel's king about his movements. The Syrian king wants Elisha dead, and sends his army to make it happen.
Elisha's servant awakes to find his village surrounded by Syrians, and he is understandably terrified. But the prophet is unfazed. He assures his servant: "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
In his book Don't Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table, Louis Giglio presses that promise to us: "If you feel like you're surrounded and there's no way out, I've got game-changing news for you - you are surrounded! But it's better than you think." (p.66)
